On 8.3.2023, at the end of the respective hearing session, the Independent Qualification Commission decided the confirmation in office of the assessee, Mr. Laurent Fuçia, judge at Vlora Judicial District Court.
The decision no. 632/2023, was notified to the Public Commissioners by the Independent Qualification Commission on 25.4.2023.
Also today, on 25.4.2023, the International Monitoring Operation presented to the Public Commissioners the recommendation to appeal the decision at the Appeal Chamber.
The Public Commissioners are simultaneously reviewing the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission and the recommendation of the International Monitoring Operation.
Based on point 1, Article 63, of law no.84/2016 “On the Transitional Re-evaluation of Judges and Prosecutors in the Republic of Albania”, the Public Commissioners have the right to appeal the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission to the Appeal Chamber, within 15 days of the notification.

The Institution of Public Commissioners has been established and operates under Article 179/b and the Annex of the Constitution of the Republic of Albania and Law No. 84/2016, “On the Transitional Re-evaluation of Judges and Prosecutors in the Republic of Albania”.
The Public Commissioners represent the public interest during the transitional process of re-evaluation of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Albania.
