The Public Commissioner was present today at the Appeal Chamber, while continued the review of the appeal filed against the Decision no. 22/2018, of the Independent Qualification Commission, for the subject of re-evaluation Mr. Edmond Islamaj, Judge at the Supreme Court.

The Public Commissioner, in his position related to some notarial acts submitted recently by the re-evaluation subject, stated that they don’t provide the probative value, as were not taken in accordance with the procedure provided in the Code of Civil Procedure, for the administration of the statements of the witnesses. Likewise, the Public Commissioner pointed out that some notarial acts presented by the subject, before the adjudication panel, are legalized in Albania in violation with the law no.7829, dated June 1, 1994 “ On the Notary”, since the statements of the witnesses were conducted outside the Albanian territory.

The re-evaluation subject as requested to the panel, necessary time to present his objections, which was unapproved, claimed that the notarial statements, that he submitted has the probative evidence, according to a practice approved by various levels of judiciary, after the ’90-s.

The Adjudication Panel accepted as evidence the written act presented by the re-evaluation subject, and after hearing the parties in the process, declared the judicial investigation terminated.

The Panel decided to the next hearing session in order to present the final conclusion, shall be held on May 2, 2019, at 10:00 a.m.
