On August 10, 2023, at the end of the respective hearing session, the Independent Qualification Commission decided the confirmation in office of the assessee, Mr. Saimir Hysa, who holds the position of prosecutor in the Prosecution Office of the First Instance Court of Tirana General Jurisdiction.
The decision no. 693/2023 of the Independent Qualification Commission was notified to the Public Commissioners on October 17, 2023.
Today, on October 18, 2023, the International Monitoring Operation (IMO) has presented the recommendation to the Public Commissioners to appeal the decision to the Appeal Chamber.
The Public Commissioners are simultaneously reviewing the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission and the recommendation of the International Monitoring Operation.
Based on point 1, Article 63, of law no.84/2016 “On the Transitional Re-evaluation of Judges and Prosecutors in the Republic of Albania”, the Public Commissioners have the right to appeal the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission to the Appeal Chamber, within 15 days of the notification.
