The Public Commissioner within the legal time limit filed an appeal at the Appeal Chamber by the Constitutional Court against Decision no. 779/2024, of the Independent Qualification Commission, concerning the assessee, Mr. Aurel Zarka, a former prosecutor at the Prosecution Office by the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Vlora.[1]
The Public Commissioner, following the recommendation of the International Monitoring Operation (IMO), based on newly verified information, deems it necessary to conduct a further investigation regarding all three re-evaluation criteria.
Under these conditions, the Public Commissioner requests that the Appeal Chamber open a judicial investigation for all three re-evaluation criteria and, at the conclusion of the judicial review, either decide to amend or uphold decision no. 779/2024 of the Independent Qualification Commission regarding the assessee, Aurel Zarka.

The Public Commissioners represent the public interest during the transitional process of re-evaluation of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Albania.
