The Public Commissioner was present today at the Appeal Chamber, where was reviewed the appeal filed by this institution against the Decision No. 22/2018, of the Independent Qualification Commission, for the subject of re-evaluation Mr. Edmond Islamaj, Judge at the Supreme Court.

The Public Commissioner, in his presentation of the case to the panel, introduced the reasons of the appeal against the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission, which in the Public Commissioner assessment has not conducted a full investigation to determine whether the re-evaluation subject achieves a trustable level in the asset criterion.

The Public Commissioner stressed the need for further investigation and requested from the Appeal Chamber the opening of the judicial investigation in order to gather new evidences. In his presentation, the Public Commissioner submitted for each of the causes of appeal, the list of evidences that should be administered by the Appeal Chamber.

Whiles, in his presentation of the case, the re-evaluation subject, Mr. Edmond Islamaj claimed    the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission was concluded as a result of a comprehensive and thorough investigation. During his presentation, the subject of the re-evaluation presented some new evidences, which had not previously been administered during the investigation by the Independent Qualification Commission, which, according to him, support the decision of confirmation in duty.

The Adjudication Panel of the Appeal Chamber decided to postpone the judicial session on 16 Nov, 2018, enabling to the Public Commissioner to become acquainted with the new evidences presented by the re-evaluation subject.
