The Public Commissioner was present today to the Appeal Chamber while continued the reviewing of the appeal filed by this Institution against the decision No. 24/2018, of the Independent Qualification Commission, for the subject of re-evaluation Mr. Bashkim Dedja, President of the Constitutional Court.

The Appeal Chamber, at the conclusion of the deliberation of the case, approved the request of the Public Commissioner filed in the appeal and decided:

  1. Amending the Decision No. 24, of the Independent Qualification Commission, dated June 13, 2018.
  2. Dismissal from office of the subject of re-evaluation, Bashkim Dedja, Judge of the Constitutional Court.
  3. This decision is final and has immediate effects.

The Institution of Public Commissioners has been established and operates under Article 179/b  the Annex of the Constitution of the Republic of Albania and Law No. 84/2016, “On the Transitional Re-evaluation of Judges and Prosecutors in the Republic of Albania”.

Public Commissioners represent the public interest during the process of re-evaluation of Judges and Prosecutors in the Republic of Albania.​  PDF
