On June 18, 2019, in conclusion of the respective hearing session, the Independent Qualification Commission decided on the confirmation in duty of the subject of re-evaluation, Mr.Kastriot Selita, judge / President of the Administrative Court of Appeal, Tirana.
The Decision no. 161/2019, of the Independent Qualification Commission related to the confirmation in duty of the judge Mr. Kastriot Selita, has been notified to the Public Commissioners on July 24, 2019.
Also today, on July 24, 2019, the International Monitoring Operation has submitted to the Public Commissioners the recommendation to appeal this decision to the Appeal Chamber. The Public Commissioners are already reviewing the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission and the recommendation of the International Monitoring Operation.

Based on point 1, Article 63, law no.84/2016 “On the Transitional Re-evaluation of Judges and Prosecutors in the Republic of Albania”, the Institution of Public Commissioners, has the right to appeal the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission at the Appeal Chamber, within 15 days as of the notification.
The Institution of Public Commissioners has been established and operates under Article 179/b of the Annex of the Constitution of the Republic of Albania and Law No. 84/2016, “On the Transitional Re-evaluation of Judges and Prosecutors in the Republic of Albania”.
Public Commissioners represent the public interest during the process of re-evaluation of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Albania.
