The Public Commissioner was present today at the Appeal Chamber continuing the judicial review of the appeal filed against Decision no 629/2023, of the Independent Qualification Commission, for the assessee, Mr. Besnik Cengu, prosecutor of Tirana District Prosecution Office.
The Adjudication Panel, at the end of the judicial review, decided:
1.The amendment of the decision no. 629/2023, of the Independent Qualification Commission, thus:
i. The termination of the transitional re-evaluation process for the assessee, Mr. Besnik Cengu, acting prosecutor of Tirana District Prosecution Office.
ii. Pursuant to paragraph 2, Article G of the Annex of the Constitution, the assesee Mr. Besnik Cengu may no longer be appointed as a judge or prosecutor at any level, as a member of the High Judicial Council, High Prosecutorial Council High, High Justice Inspector, or Prosecutor General, for a duration of 15 years.
2. This decision is final and effective immediately.
The decision was announced today in Tirana, June 13, 2023.
