The Head of the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK), Mr. Altin Dumani, in exercising the powers of the Public Commissioner, authorized Mr. Klodjan Braho, serving as Prosecutor at the Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime (also Chair of the Anti-Corruption Section), to represent him before the Appeal Chamber during the judicial review of the appeal against Decision No. 762/2022, of the Independent Qualification Commission, concerning the assessee Mr. Afrim Shehu, currently serving as a prosecutor at the Prosecution Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Tirana.

Following the verification of attendance, the presiding judge invited the parties to present their closing arguments.

Mr. Klodjan Braho, the Chair of the Anti-Corruption Section at the Special Prosecution Office, analyzed the findings concerning the asset assessment criterion, stating that even after the review of the newly submitted evidence, remains in conditions of inaccurate and insufficient declaration of asset. Concluding his final remarks, Mr. Braho requested that the adjudicating panel amend Decision No. 762/ 2022, of the Independent Qualification Commission, and dismiss form office the assessee Mr. Afrim Shehu.

The assessee, through his legal representative, objected to the findings related to the asset assessment criterion, arguing that the identified elements do not constitute circumstances that would jeopardize the public trust in the justice system.

After deliberation in chambers, the adjudicating panel withdrew to render the final decision, which is scheduled to be announced on May 8, 2025, at 14:30.

The appeal and elements of the case are published on the official SPAK website, in the “Re-evaluation Process” section: https://spak.gov.al/
